I had a hot pot dinner with my grade school friends last night. Most of them I don't regularly keep in touch with. We had one girl visiting from London, so we got together to meet with her. We all had a great time last night. It was always so funny to talk about all the silly things back in the good old days. Among those girls, I was the first one to leave Hong Kong back then, so some of the things we talked about last night I wasn't there for. I was realizing that all my life I haven't been good at maintaining friendships. When I leave a place, I just leave connections and acquaintances behind. If I had only been better at this, my life would probably have been very different all these years.
It's always a great feeling to get together with friends I grew up with in my teen hood. These are the people that we can easily relate to and care about. Thanks also to one of the girls who sent me an email today. I was quite touched by how sincere she was and the advice she gave me.

Don't worry about not keeping up with contacts as you move through your life. I've found that your mind is good at prioritizing your activities. In the end, we keep in touch with those who matter most.
I get jim's point. But then I still think for introverts like me, we'll do better if we do make some efforts in keeping in touch with friends.
For me, sometimes it's plain laziness or a bad habbit of procastination that keep me from doing it.
