Book: The Last Dive: A Father and Son's Fatal Descent into the Ocean's Depths by Bernie Chowdhury

I first heard of this book on a diving forum a few years back. Recently I was reminded of this book again so I borrowed it from the library. It's a must-read for any divers, especially ones who are interested in technical diving. Even if you're a non-diver, the author explains every technical term so the book is comprehensible by all audience. I myself am a recreational diver. I have gained a lot more general knowledge on tech diving from reading this book alone.

The book keeps no suspense on the deaths of the father and son divers. The book tells stories so much more than just the one dive of the father and son. It describes the development of recreational diving. It touches on the controversies of diving. It explains why people would take great risks just to go deeper. It even tells you the near death experience of the author himself and why he still returns to the water after the accident.

The book is an easy read and you'll find it hard to put down once you've started. I'd recommend this book to all divers, and anyone interested in learning more about the diving world and community. In fact, I've already recommended quite a few friends to read this book.
