Every now and then I would say something like this about a person: He is a nice person. He just doesn't know how to express himself. Or, she is really kind-hearted. She just has different opinions from me a lot of times. It seems like most of the people that I meet are actually good natured. I just have a lot of "buts" to follow. I try to speak for them that they didn't really mean what they said, or they didn't realize what they said could mean to others. I don't really understand them, but I try to avoid being offended. I have simply become apathetic. I've acquired selective hearing. My mind starts to wander off and my hearing shuts down when I hear what I don't want to hear.
That's it. Totally self-absorbed and apathetic.
