Well, now that Mew's appearing fine, I should recount some interesting incidents.
When I took Mew to the vet for consultation for the first time, she hadn't eaten for days. She wouldn't eat anything I gave her and she'd only stay under the bed. Worried that she'd become malnutritious and harm her liver, I gave her some milk. She drank quite a bit of it. So on our way to the vet in the taxi, while I was chatting with the taxi driver about how crazy some pet owners could be, I felt heat on my laps and it was getting more and more intense. Without really thinking, I first thought it was Mew's body heat penetrating through the carrier because I had it over my laps. As the heat became more intense, I realized it couldn't be Mew's heat. I looked down, and voila, my laps were all wet!! You guessed it... Mew peed all over me!
When we came back from the vet the second time, which was for Mew's teeth extraction and dental cleansing, Mew had lost two patches of fur. One patch was on her chest, so the vet could take a blood sample of her. The other patch was on her right, front leg. She actually had cotton taped around that patch. My guess was that that was where the drip was inserted. The first patch on the chest isn't very prominent. But, boy, the patch on her leg is such an eye sore! You know what? Cats without their fur are sooo ugly!! Never, ever, shave your cat! Please!! No matter how cute Mew is, she, without her fur in its entirety, makes me laugh and say eeeewww.
And one more thing. Mew hasn't been so tame as she has been the past few days since as long as I can remember. She lets me smell her, kiss her, rest on her, hold her, hug her, stroke her, anything, without running away, growling, or hissing. She's been so adorable! But there was a price to pay. I've had to crush the canned food, crawl under the bed, stretch out my arm as far as I could with each spoonful of food, and beg her to eat! Even my mom got jealous and said I'd never treat her the same way I treated my cat. And, of course, I responded by saying, "But Mom, if you like, I can feed you with this food right here, right now!"
