Trip of the Year

I've been planning on going to New Zealand in late September or early October this year as my trip of the year for a while. I've always wanted to go to New Zealand, and I think it's finally time that I go this year. But just as I thought I've had my mind set, I am told that my scuba diving buddies are going to Bali in late September. I've already missed my last trip to Sipadan with them. Apparently they had a great time and saw lots of different life forms down there. I'd hate to miss another trip with them. Besides, ever since my diving trip to the Philippines, I'm just not able to be very enthusiastic about diving in HK anymore. I just have to go elsewhere to dive. So, what should I do now? I can, of course, postpone my New Zealand trip to January, 2008, at which time the weather will also be warmer and more pleasant. But I'd hate to keep postponing my NZ trip, and I'd have to save up more for both trips! Okay, these are besides the point. My other concern is the frequent earthquakes occurring around Indonesia these days. I'm not very worried about another terrorist attack in Bali, nor would I be worried about being hit by earthquakes if I was staying on land. But scuba diving? It seems kind of scary if there was even an earthquake in the remotest spot out there that could trigger waves and what not. Am I being paranoid? But then knowing myself, I know I'd just say the hell with it and tag along as long as I'm decided to go and the group is going.

Well, at least I'm headed to Guizhou, China in two days. The weather's gonna be nice and chilly at 15C during the day and 5C at night. Definitely my kind of weather, as long as it's not humid.
